Being thought of as a terrorist/outcast cannot be very academically motivating; also when certain white people challenge the British-ness/hood of Muslims by treating people born and bred in Britain as foreigners as well as second class citizens; who cannot exercise their rights as average British citizens; the average Muslim Brit rightly feels bullied.

Let us not ignore the brick-chucking,name-calling and other illegal forms of racially motivated violence in the back-alleys of British society.

Communication is hard since people are judged by/for/according-to their appearance/colouring.Justice is also arduous to receive when you know that when you go-to report a crime you'll have to go/talk/report to a (what is commonly referred to as a pig) very white plausibly racially close-minded policeman.

'Paki" has long been considered a very racist term in British society(even though it literally means pure in Urdu).

And there's also prejudice stemming from the use of incongruous English; such as in the mostly irrelevant heated display on the right. There's a stark difference between recognising/recognizing racism and condoning it. I'm afraid pseudonym:Susanwusan has mistaken the former for the latter.

Muslim do not believe the false accusations of being a terrorist because they are not.Iam actually a muslim child who goes to primary school and i do not believe in such thing that we muslims are bullied. Children who do well in school and almost qualify for grammar* schools have to settle for the worst schools in Britain because of poverty:^[1]

Getting jobs is horrifically difficult for the average Muslim Brit especially in the odd-job market(which uneducated Muslims have to resort to) dominated by racist uneducated white people who treat Muslim Brits like foreigners and refuse to let 'immigrants' take 'their' jobs. Education is not free.

The language barrier: many Muslim families have shifted-to/settled-in ghettos to avoid/avert racist bashing over the decades; They mostly use Punjabi,Urdu and other languages; not English to communicate; perfectly intelligent Muslim children have trouble getting into schools because they lack command of and fluency in the English language; for this reason.

Also, the Cockney brand of English used in poverty-stricken areas is hard to understand/learn even for upper-crust Brits who speak clear and controlled ox-bridge English ; to expect Muslim children to learn it as a second language is a bit much.

Agreed that there is racism and oppression mostly/worse felt in districts of abject penury and in secluded areas; where people fortress themselves from British society as a whole.

However; does opposition/oppression/racism entail or excuse poor performance?

We should not take light of the fact that many if not most of the greatest minds in recorded history emerged victorious out of some kind of travesty. Heroism/invention/genius has spurned time and time again from suffering/tragedy/oppression/injustice/etc.

Difficult circumstances do not necessary lead to failure and poor performance. Ultimately it's only a matter of the right attitude/mindset. This is developed from the home and its surroundings.

However; obsessed Asian parents are about their kids making the grade. Some also tend to infect young minds with mistrust of the system/country; they live with/in. The attitude isn't generally 'let's learn together' but 'you must get good marks' and that if you don't pass with flying colour/colors 'make excuses'; whine about this and that: blame everything/one but the only one you are accountable for; yourself.

The MP is right in discouraging school-level gender segregation. There is a greater fascination with the other sex in exclusively boys'/girls' schools.

And children from these schools tend to more romantically(sometimes sexually) active because of all the restrictions imposed upon them.

Militant regulation/segregation can prove to be counterproductive.

Also keeping people of one religion under one roof could mean bashing people of other religions in closed classrooms and in light of the current climate, erratically emotional talk of jihad. Mosques/Masjids in Britain have posed as militant group headquarters in the past for this reason.

People who teach at and/or build Muslim girls' schools cannot seriously be thought of as Taliban-esque backward school burning Jihadists.However; in this day and age of open course-ware, camera-phones etc; achieving classroom lecture transparency is not hard. And is a welcome move for institutions who wish to tackle prejudice head-on and boast of their quality teaching standards.
